5 Stars for Stellar Winery’s Heaven on Earth

Stellar Winery’s Heaven on Earth dessert wine has been a long-standing favourite around the world for years. The 2017 edition of the Platter’s South African Wine Guide is out, and the wine has been awarded with a 5-Star rating – a first for the winery when it comes to the Platter’s wine guides.

This unique dessert wine is made from organic Muscat d’Alexandrie grapes. The natural sweet wine is light in the mouth and has delicate flavours of  roses and apricots, held together by wisps of Rooibos (Red Bush), a herbal tea exclusive to the Namaqualand area of South Africa.

The wine emerged as one of 94 five-star-rated-wines. “As per last year, all wines that were scored 4.5 stars or higher in the primary assessment went into a second round of tasting, conducted blind (without sight of the label) by small panels including experienced palates from outside the team,” said Jean-Pierre Rossouw, publisher of Platter’s by Diners Club.
