Riegel Bioweine, the largest organic wine wholesaler in Germany, recently paid Stellar Winery a visit.

As reported by Claudia Stehle from Riegel Weinimport; “Together with important customers from the organic wine market, our guests started the day with a morning walk with Lisbeth, Stellar’s Clinical Psychologist. She talked about her work with the  workers, which the Riegel team found quite interesting.

The group then visited Steilhoogte Primary School to see the difference fair trade projects make in the daily lives of those who need it most.

The group was shown the vegetable garden, after which they had the chance to get to know some of the school workers.

Back in Vredendal, our guests then visited the cellar and tasted a variety of  wines. Finally, what turned out to be an informative and emotional day ended with a braai (barbeque). “

We would like to thank the Riegel Bioweine team for spending time at our cellar and with our community of workers. We are glad that you enjoyed your visit!

In mid-September, Mack & Schule and Bionysys, who market the Itemba brand in Germany, visited Stellar Winery along with some key customers.

As the group arrived at Stellar, they were immediately treated to some Riel dancing by the local junior team. The Rieldans is the oldest dance form in South Africa – and quite likely the oldest in the world. It derives from the ritual dancing practiced by the first South Africans, known as the Khoisan.

The group then enjoyed an informal luncheon and wine tasting at Willem Rossouw, Stellar Winery Managing Director’s home. It was lovely for us to spend some time with these customers from so far away. We appreciate them taking the time to come all the way to South Africa to visit us.
